Home affairs has of late ramped up its investigation into all companies that employ foreigners. Inspectors enter companies and ask for a list of all employees and their proof of identification. All foreign employees are then required to provide their valid visas or asylum documents.

The renewed energy into weeding out invalid permits and visas appears to be post the 2021 task team launch: https://www.sanews.gov.za/south-africa/task-team-established-review-visas-permits-issued-2004

The moment an employer is found with undocumented or fraudulently documented, employees the employer or the Human resources manager is arrested.

The responsibility lies with you, as the employer, to  ensure that all your employees are documented with valid visas or asylums.

Our Immigration/emigration department is offering a free review of all employee’s visas and asylum documents, to employers. We will assess whether the visas or asylums are valid and avoid jail time for employers.
