Vaughn recently joined Thomson Wilks as a consultant. He brings with him extensive experience within the legal sector.

In addition to obtaining his BA and LLB from the University of Stellenbosch he has a Higher Diploma in Tax Law (Wits) and qualified as an English solicitor and is on the non-practicing roll of UK Solicitors.

Following the obtaining of his LLB degree Vaughn was on the staff of the Attorney General appearing in the High Court as an Advocate.

Vaughn has had extensive experience in various sectors including energy resources and projects, litigation involving commercial and tax issues, expertise in respect of government projects and privatisation, pharmaceutical and Life Science industry expertise, transactions relating to the automotive and aviation sectors, and transactions relating to agribusiness.

Over a lengthy period of time, Vaughn has had, and has gained, the widest possible corporate and commercial experience and one of his strengths is that, as a Senior Practitioner, he is able to manage large and complex transactions and teams of professionals and involving issues such as due diligence, tax and structuring, HR issues, IP issues, Regulatory matters, including merger approvals and Exchange Control issues, and the drafting and preparation of transaction documents.

Having worked in London for some time, Vaughn has also had experience in working on a multinational basis and with clients and teams of professionals based in different jurisdictions, and he has had experience in managing and co-ordinating the various client expectations and work product required, and he has also been able to work independently and with great motivation.
