On 5 August 2026, the National Minimum Wage Commissioninvited interested parties to submit written representations on possibleadjustments to the national minimum wage.
Written representations must reach the Directorate:Employment Standards, Department of Employment and Labour, either by post to PrivateBag X117, Pretoria, 0001, or by email to nmwreview@labour.gov.za, by4 September 2026.
Interested parties are also encouraged to complete anonline survey questionnaire, accessible via the Department’s website (https://www.labour.gov.za)and Facebook page.
The Commission has indicated that a further opportunity forwritten representations will follow the publication of its annual report, regardingany recommendations in that report.
Given the direct impact any adjustment has on employers,early engagement offers the best opportunity to influence the Commission’seventual recommendation to the Minister.
